FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing perfluoroethyl isopropyl ketone, which is a new-generation fire extinguishing substance. Method involves reaction of hexafluoropropene oxide and hexafluoropropene in presence of a catalyst, containing CsF and a subsequent extraction step. Method is carried out in two steps: at first step, part of hexafluoropropene is oxidised with oxygen at a ratio of 3:1, chlorine concentration 0.7 vol% and pressure of 0.35 MPa, at second step produced mixture is first held at temperature of 55–65 °C, then at 110–120 °C and transferred to extraction step.
EFFECT: proposed method enables to obtain an end product from commercially available raw material with output of 95 %.
