SUBSTANCE: invention relates to internal combustion engines with spark ignition. Internal combustion engine with spark ignition includes: mechanism to vary compression ratio, through which volume of combustion chamber is changed; internal cylinder pressure sensor, which receives a signal of pressure fluctuation of pressure inside cylinder; and abnormal combustion detection unit, comprising a filter which transmits a pressure signal, specified frequency range of pressure signal, and detecting occurrence of abnormal combustion based on pressure signal, transmitted through filter. Abnormal combustion detection unit sets frequency range of filter based on crankshaft turn angle section, in which there is abnormal combustion, and based on mechanical compression degree.

EFFECT: invention provides accurate detection of occurrence of abnormal combustion.
