FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to internal combustion engine control system, which controls internal combustion engine according to air-fuel ratio sensor output signal. Result is achieved by fact, that control system for internal combustion engine includes catalyst at inlet side; catalyst at outlet side, which is located further downstream, than catalyst at inlet side, in exhaust gases flow direction; air-fuel ratio at outlet side determining device, which is arranged between these catalysts; accumulation amount assessment device, which calculates oxygen accumulation value for catalyst at outlet side; and inlet air-fuel ratio control device, which controls air-fuel ratio for exhaust gases, supplied to catalyst at inlet side, wherein air-fuel ratio for exhaust gas reaches desired air-fuel ratio. At rich mixture controlling during standard mode poor target air-fuel ratio is set, if air-fuel ratio, defined by air-fuel ratio determining device at outlet side, is rich, and target ratio is set rich, if oxygen accumulation value for catalyst at inlet side is equal to or greater, than accumulation reference value at inlet side. If oxygen accumulation value for catalyst at outlet side is equal to or less, than lower limit accumulation value at outlet side, which is less, than maximum accumulation value, then poor target air-fuel ratio is set, wherein air-fuel ratio for exhaust gases, flowing from catalyst at inlet side, becomes poor.
EFFECT: technical result is creation of control system for internal combustion engine, which prevents of outlet side catalyst incomplete oxidation products flow in moment when controlling over air-fuel ratio for exhaust gases supplied to inlet side catalyst.
