FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the control system of the internal combustion engine. The control system of the internal combustion engine is suggested, the system controls leaning, as result an air-fuel ratio in the exhaust gases entering a catalyst is set equal to lean air-fuel ratio, and controls upgrading resulting in air-fuel ratio in the exhaust gases entering the catalyst of exhaust gases cleaning is set equal to upgraded air-fuel ratio. When quantity of oxygen stored in the catalyst during leaning control achieves or exceeds the criterion of volume of stored oxygen, and switching to upgrading control is performed. Besides, control of setting the lean air-fuel ratio for the first quantity of sucked air to more upgraded then lean air-fuel ratio for the second quantity of sucked air that is below the first quantity of sucked air.
EFFECT: technical result is creation of the control system of the internal combustion engine having catalyst of exhaust gases cleaning, able to accumulate oxygen preventing NOX outflow.
