FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a control system of an internal combustion engine (ICE), the control system controls ICE in accordance with output signal of an air-fuel ratio sensor. The result ensures that ICE control system has the air-fuel ratio sensor installed in an outlet channel of ICE; and engine control device to control ICE in accordance with the output signal of the air-fuel ratio sensor. The air-fuel ratio sensor has a measuring gas chamber, exhaust gas enters the chamber; a pump cell pumping in oxygen or its pumping out in accordance with pump current; and a reference cell, in the cell the determined reference output current varies in accordance with the air-fuel ratio inside the measuring gas chamber. The reference cell has a first electrode opened to action of the exhaust gas in the measuring gas chamber; a second electrode opened to action of the reference atmosphere; and a layer out of solid electrolyte located between electrodes. The air-fuel ratio sensor has a reference voltage source supplying sensor voltage between electrodes; and a device determining reference output current determining the current flowing between the electrodes as reference output current.

EFFECT: invention creates the air-fuel ratio sensor overcoming drawbacks of both common single cell air-fuel ratio sensor, and two cell air-fuel ratio sensor.
