FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to traumatology and orthopaedics and is applicable for removal of the femoral component of the hip joint endoprosthesis. A burr hole is made in the femur at the level of 2-3 cm from the level of the endoprosthesis leg end, by means of a 5-7 mm drill. A guide channel is formed along the endoprosthesis leg on the outer surface between the endoprosthesis and bone. A guide wire is inserted from the proximal side and brought out through the burr hole and cerclage system conductor, and fixed to the Gigli saw, which is passed in the opposite direction through the cerclage conductor, placed in the burr hole, and along the femoral component of the endoprosthesis within the femoral canal through the guide channel. A saw cut is made between the endoprosthesis component and femur along the entire circumference of the femoral canal by progressive pendulum-like movements of the Gigli saw. The femoral prosthesis component is removed from the femoral canal.

EFFECT: invention preserves bone tissue.
