FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an amine-based additive composition for control and inhibition of polymerization of aromatic vinyl monomers, including styrene, containing: (A) one or more of quinone methide or its derivatives, (B) one or more of nitroxide compounds and characterised by that said composition additionally contains: (C) one or more aliphatic tertiary amines or mixture thereof, wherein said aliphatic tertiary amine contains one or more hydroxyl groups in alkyl chain of tertiary amine, wherein said composition does not contain one or more of following amines: i) triethanolamine (TEA); ii) tris [N-butylamine] (TBA); iii) monoethanolamine (MEA); iv) dibutylamine (DBA); v) diethanolamine (DEA); vi) dipropyl amine (DPA); vii) ethylenediamine (EDA); and viii) tetraethylenepentamine (TERA) and ix) a mixture thereof. Furthermore, invention relates to a method of monitoring and inhibiting polymerisation of vinyl aromatic monomers, including styrene, including using said composition, as well as to a method of producing said additive composition. Invention also relates to a composition, containing (i) aromatic vinyl monomers, including styrene, and (ii) an additive composition.
EFFECT: technical result is reducing or minimising number of aromatic and nitroxide compounds in additive composition for producing a composition which is cheap and safe for humans.
