FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: to determine amines in ahydrous media, the analyzed sample containing amines is dissolved in acetonitrile with addition of 0.01 to 1 mol/l of inert salt, an electrode, to which a preliminary 10 nm to 10 mcm thick coating consisting of polymer transition metal complexes with Schiff bases is applied, is immersed, and a voltammogram is recorded in the potential range including potentials from -0.2 to 1.2, with the sweep rate in the range of 5-1000 mV/s, which is compared to reference voltammograms for known amines and the amines similar to the reference sample are identified in the analyzed sample by the chronoamperometric method using calibration curves. Tetraethylammonium tetrafluoroborate or ammonium tetrafluoroborate are used as the inert salt.
EFFECT: invention can be applied in chemical, pharmaceutical, medical and food industries for qualitative and quantitative analysis of amines.
