SUBSTANCE: method includes determining the colour characteristics of the red colour coordinate linearly correlating with the flash point in the closed crucible. The red colour coordinate RsRGB is defined in the colorimetric system sRGB in the raster graphic editor for photo-imaging the petroleum oil fraction placed in the transparent cuvette and illuminated with the fluorescent lamp. The temperature is determined by the formula T=278-0.6678⋅RsRGB, where T - a flash point in the closed crucible, °C; RsRGB - a red colour coordinate in the colorimetric system sRGB, defined by photo-imaging the petroleum oil fraction; 278 - a constant factor equal to 278°C; 0.6678 - a constant factor equal to 0.6678 °C.
