SUBSTANCE: body portion impedance is measured at low and high frequency. Based on the measured impedance at high frequency, estimate amounts of fluid in the body tissues in the test volume is obtained at the current time. Based on the measured impedance at low frequency, estimate amounts of extracellular fluid in the test volume is obtained at the current time. The base value of the estimate amount of extracellular fluid in the test volume at the initial moment of measurement time is selected. The correction value is determined, which takes into account changes in the blood amount in the test volume to the current moment of time. The corrected estimate amount of fluid in the body tissues in the test volume is determined, taking into account the change in the blood amount to the current moment of time. Based on the obtained values of the corrected estimate amount of fluid in the body tissues in the test volume, the occurrence of lack of water in the human body is concluded.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of lack of water determination in the body by taking into account changes in the blood amount in the test volume to the current moment of time.
