FIELD: petrochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to petrochemistry, specifically to a sintering additive composition for producing carbon-containing articles for the metallurgical industry and a method for production thereof. Composition consists of concentrated residue of suspension hydrocracking of heavy oil feedstock, having content of aromatic hydrocarbons in range of 23–27 wt.%. and content of mechanical impurities from 4 wt.% to 9 wt.% relative to the total weight of the composition.
EFFECT: providing a sintering additive composition from a concentrated residue of suspension hydrocracking of heavy oil feedstock, which enables to obtain high-strength carbon-containing articles for the metallurgical industry, reduced negative impact on the environment and humans, as well as effective use of the residual product of hydrocracking of heavy oil feedstock when producing a sintering additive composition.
