FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: in the first step, local landing is implemented, for which an insert of truncated cone shape facing the sheets with its large side is pressed to a packet of sheets placed on the upper matrix housing surface pursed thereto by a rod punch to form a pit and extrude a part of material to annular gap between anvil side surface and matrix housing. Wherein a hook is formed in the pit, and an annular cavity is formed in the zone adjacent to the insert side surface. Wherein a tubular punch is retracted downwards without impeding metal flow. At the second step, deposit is implemented with geometric insertion locking that excludes its spontaneous coming out of the pit, for this purpose, sheet material pushed into a gap is moved into a cavity formed by insert conical surface and general side surface of a rod punch and pressing to obtain an intermeshing clinch connection, by means of a tubular punch placed in an annular gap.

EFFECT: increased joint strength and expanded technological possibilities of process.
