FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: control device for setting a plurality of combustion parameters which modify the combustion state of internal combustion engine to the corresponding values is proposed, wherein an engine electronic control unit (ECU 70) sets the combustion parameter (point of main injection, point of pilot injection, fuel injection pressure, turbocharger pressure, etc.) so that the gravity center position of heat generation rate becomes constant target crankshaft rotation angle regardless of engine (10) load. ECU (70) estimates the gravity center position of the heat generation rate based on the output signal of pressure sensor (64) in the cylinder and controls the combustion parameter back so that the estimated gravity center position of the heat generation rate becomes equal to the target crankshaft rotation angle.
EFFECT: reduced losses while cooling and exhaust losses, improved fuel consumption rate.
