FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a diamine/dicarboxylic acid salt, in which the dicarboxylic acid contains an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and is presented in powder form; diamine is presented in liquid form. Method of producing a diamine/dicarboxylic acid salt comprises steps at which (i) obtaining a reaction mixture by contacting a liquid diamine with a dicarboxylic acid powder containing an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, and (ii) reacting said diamine and said aromatic dicarboxylic acid in said reaction mixture to form a diamine/dicarboxylic acid salt, wherein step (i) includes: (a) gradual addition of liquid diamine to the aromatic dicarboxylic acid powder while maintaining the dicarboxylic acid powder in constant motion; and then (b) keeping the reaction mixture in constant motion for a certain period of time immediately after completion of addition, wherein (a) and (b) are carried out in a mixer with low shearing force at temperature higher than 0 °C and lower than the following temperatures: a diamine boiling point and a melting point of the dicarboxylic acid, a diamine/dicarboxylic acid salt and any reaction intermediate, and wherein reaction mixture during (a) and (b) contains not more than 5 wt % of water with respect to total weight of diamine and dicarboxylic acid, where said diamine is a mixture of different diamines.
