IMPROVED BASE FOR ENTERAL NUTRITION DEVICE Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61J15/00

Abstract RU 2619210 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to enteral nutrition during body cavity catheterization. The device for enteral nutrition comprises a base adapted to be mounted on an outer body surface, and a tube that is installed at the predetermined position by insertion through the stoma from the body surrounding space, wherein: the tube has proximal and distal ends, outer diameter and length, defined by the distance between the proximal and distal ends, and defines a longitudinal axis substantially parallel to the tube length; the base has an upper surface and an opposing bottom surface, first and second ends and first and second side edges substantially opposite one another and connecting the upper and lower surfaces and first and second ends; the proximal tube end is connected to the lower base surface and protrudes from it; the lower base surface defines a plane substantially parallel to the said lower surface and substantially perpendicular to the tube longitudinal axis; the bottom surface has at least one recess extending upwards to the upper base surface and directly surrounding at least a portion of the proximal tube end to form an air space between the bottom base surface and the said plane; major and minor axes are defined for the base, wherein the major axis passes through the said first and second ends, and the minor axis - through the said first and second sides, and the said bottom surface recess is substantially concave along the major axis and convex along the minor axis.

EFFECT: reduced the risk of irritation and injury to the stoma is achieved.
