SUBSTANCE: blood sample is taken, chloroform and tetrachloromethane concentration is determined therein, levels of total cholesterol and LDL low-density lipoprotein are determined. An anamnesis examination of the child on a three-point scale and genotyping are performed. The risk of overweight in a child is predicted if the total cholesterol level is above 3.9 mmol/l and the LDL level is above 1.8 mmol/l, the child has 6 or more points in anamnestic examination, heterozygous rs7997012 genotype of HTR2A gene is present, tetrachloromethane concentration in blood is increased above the reference concentration and chloroform concentration is in the range of 5.17-5.59 mcg/l. The risk of obesity formation is predicted at a chloroform concentration equal to or greater than 5.79 mcg/l.
EFFECT: effective method for assessment of the individual risk of overweight and obesity in children.
