FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of storage and release of electric power, which employs a metal-air cell (1), the mentioned method comprises: (a) the phase of discharge, in which a first positive air electrode (5) is connected to the positive terminal (3) of the element and a second positive electrode (6), in which oxygen is liberated, it is disconnected from the positive terminal (3) of the element; (B) charging phase, during which the positive electrode (6) on which oxygen is released; then it is connected to the positive terminal (3) of the element, and the first positive air electrode (5) is disconnected from the positive terminal (3) of the element. The potential of the negative electrode (4) relative to the first positive air electrode (5) is measured during recharging phase, and the absolute value of the potential of the negative electrode (4) is adjusted so that it does not exceed a predetermined value. Furthermore, the invention also relates to a metal-air element (1), specially designed to implement of the method.
EFFECT: regulating the negative electrode potential during the charging can restrict the formation of the zinc deposits in the form of foam or dendrites and to avoid the occurrence of an internal short circuit.
