SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing the first solution, which is a solution of potassium iodide at a concentration of 0.216-3.6 mmol/l, preparing a second solution formed from an aqueous solution of silver nitrate at a concentration of 0.36 to 6.0 mmol/l and from a solution of polyelectrolyte stabiliser with a concentration of 1.0-10.0 mmol/l, mixing both solutions under normal conditions by pouring the first solution to the second solution to form stabilized silver iodide particles having an average particle size of 1.3-1.9 nm. Stabilized particles of silver iodide can be used as catalytic systems in the processes of destruction of organic substances or antimicrobial solutions.

EFFECT: obtaining nanoscale silver iodide particles with a narrow size distribution, simplifying the way they are produced.
