SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in optoelectronics and medicine when producing radiation sources and fluorescent labels. Method of producing an aqueous colloidal solution of silver nanoparticles involves preparing a mixture of aqueous solutions of silver nitrate, sodium sulphide and a stabilizer. Aqueous solution of silver nitrate is added with a stabilizer aqueous solution. Then the obtained solution is added with an aqueous solution of sodium sulphide at a controlled pH value and room temperature. Stabilizer used is sodium citrate Na3C6H5O7 in the molar ratio of components of silver nitrate:sodium sulphide:sodium citrate = 1:(0.5÷1):(0.4÷20) and the pH value equal to 5.2-6.1.
EFFECT: invention simplifies production of stable to a year aqueous colloidal solutions of silver nanoparticles with the particle size from 6 to 20 nm under the condition of their storage at room temperature.
