FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: intensity of the diffraction lines reflected from the crystalline cementite structure is recorded. As the exciting radiation in the device, the monochromatic line ScKα (3.03 E) is used obtained by converting the primary radiation of an X-ray tube by means of a 100-200 micron filter of scandium foil. According to the measured intensities of the reflected line ScKα on the cementite grids contained in the test samples, the dependence on standard samples of cast iron is constructed and the carbon content in the samples is determined according to it.

EFFECT: increasing the validity, reliability and accuracy of analysis in determining carbon in cast iron.
