SUBSTANCE: image pickup device provides automatical focus detection using the first information about image forming positions, which is obtained by performing, using the first weigh-scales, the weighted summation for information regarding the image forming positions, where the said information corresponds to different spatial frequencies. The second information about the image forming positions is received by performing, using the second weigh-scales, the weighted summation of the said information. The detected focus is adjusted based on the comparison result of the first and the second information about the image forming positions. The first weigh-scales correspond to the estimated weight band during the image evaluation, while the second weigh-scales correspond to the estimated weight band of the said signal used during the automatic focus detection.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of adjusting the focus detection error and determining more than one spatial frequency when focusing.
