STERILE MAINTAINING MEDICAL CONNECTOR UNIT AND METHOD Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61M39/10 A61M25/16

Abstract RU 2623490 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: medical connector assembly includes a reusable connector and a variety of disposable connectors. The reusable connector comprises a proximal end opposite to the distal end along its longitudinal length. Multiple disposable connectors are connected in series to form a fluid path therethrough, each comprises a proximal end opposite to the distal end along its longitudinal length. The distal end of the reusable connector is detachably connected to the proximal end of the first of the serially connected disposable connectors. When the second of the serially connected disposable connector is disconnected from the first disposable connector, the first disposable connector is connected to the reusable connector as a cap to maintain sterility. A method for installation and maintaining of a sterile liquid junction in the medical connector assembly, wherein the reusable connector is provided. Multiple disposable connectors, serially connected to form a fluid path therethrough, are provided. The distal end of the reusable connector is connected to the proximal end of the first of the serially connected disposable connectors and the second of the serially connected disposable connectors is disconnected from the first disposable connector so that the first disposable connector remains connected to the reusable connector as a cap to maintain sterility. For the second version, the medical connector assembly comprises a reusable connector detachably connected to the first of the serially connected disposable connectors. When the second of the serially connected disposable connector is disconnected from the first disposable connector, the first disposable connector is connected to the reusable connector as a cap to maintain sterility.

EFFECT: maintaining of reusable element sterility.
