FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: cryopreserved platelets preparation for transfusion requires the following steps. Containers with frozen platelets are defrosted by heating at temperatures from 37 to 40°C over 2 to 4 minutes. DMSO concentration in the defrosted cryopreserved platelets is determined. The volume of plasma or resuspending solution required for introduction in the defrosted cryopreserved platelets to obtain the final DMSO concentration of not more than 0.5% is determined, followed by defrosted platelets resuspension by this plasma volume, compatible in terms of the AVO system, or the resuspending solution at constant stirring for 8-12 minutes at the plasma or solution feed rate of 1-3 ml per minute. Before transfusion, the defrosted platelets are stored for a maximum of 4 hours at a temperature of 20 to 24°C with constant stirring.
EFFECT: application of the invention allows to improve the quality of cryopreserved platelets after defrosting.
