FIELD: medicine; clinical and industrial transfusiology.

SUBSTANCE: method for laundering the platelet concentrate from the cryoprotector includes defrosting the cryopreserved platelet concentrate by heating it up to 37°С, centrifugation in a refrigerated centrifuge at 5,300 g for 8 min at 20°C, and removing the supernatant. Next, a resuspending SSP+ solution is added to the sediment of the platelet concentrate in a ratio of 1:20 and the resulting suspension is suspended until a homogeneous state is performed at a rate of 180 rotations/min for 10 minutes at a temperature of 20 ± 2.0°C. Then the resulting mixture is separated in a refrigerated centrifuge at 5,300 g for 8 min at 20°C. After centrifugation, the supernatant is removed, then the SSP+ resuspension solution is added in a ratio of 1:10 and thoroughly mixed until a homogeneous suspension in the mode of 180 rotations/min for 10 minutes at a temperature of 20 ± 2.0°C to obtain a washed platelet concentrate.

EFFECT: proposed method for laundering the platelet concentrate from the cryoprotectant will minimize the side effects of transfusions of the cryopreserved platelet concentrate associated with the toxicity of cryopreservation solutions and preserve the original number and functional properties of platelets.
