FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed ways of probing multiple targets in a biological sample, including the use of photoactivatable chemical bleaching to detect multiple targets in a biological sample. The methods include binding at least one probe with one or more than one target present in a sample comprising multiple target; detection signal from at least one bound probe; bringing a sample containing bound probe into contact with the electron transfer agent; irradiation of the sample, binding at least one probe with one or more than one target present in the sample; detection of the probe signal. Also method of preparing a series of at least two images showing optically labeled biological targets is provided.
EFFECT: method improvement.
