FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: moving area is determined based on the frame ratio in the method for determining the boundaries of a rectangular moving image area. The boundaries of the moving area are extracted, and its coordinates are held. If no moving area is defined, it is determined, whether there is a boundary (field) according to the last coordinate, where the moving area is detected. The area within the field is determined as a moving area. Thus, even when the moving is temporarily stopped in the subsequent frame, it is possible to estimate that the area defined by the boundary coordinates of the rectangular moving image area is a moving area.
EFFECT: reducing the computational costs and the designing complexity of the rectangular moving image area definition.
