FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: lane changeability of the vehicle is determined by the first distance between vehicles, which serves as a target for changing the lane of a vehicle on an adjacent lane, adjacent to the lane on which the vehicle is traveling. When the lane change is determined to be impracticable, the presence or absence of the possibility that the first distance between vehicles will expand to the extent that provides the opportunity to change lanes is determined by the second vehicle distance located in front or behind the first distance between vehicles. When it is determined that there is a possibility, waiting is defined as necessary, and when it is determined that there is no such possibility, the expectation is defined as excessive.
EFFECT: preventing the vehicle from continuing to wait at a position that is transverse to the same distance between vehicles, regardless of the situation on the adjacent lane when lanes change from their own lane to the adjacent lane.
