SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for motion control. The method for controlling the movement of the vehicle includes providing the system start mode and the driver start mode. The system start mode includes, when the start condition is satisfied, information about the lane change is provided regarding whether to accept the automatic lane change function, when in response to the presentation of information about the lane change, a receiving input is detected confirming the automatic lane change function, determining whether a lane change is possible, and when determining that a lane change is possible, the automatic lane change function is performed. The driver start mode includes, when a predefined lane change instruction operation is performed, determining whether a lane change is possible, and when determining that a lane change is possible, performing an automatic lane change function. The time to determine whether a lane change is possible in the driver start mode is set shorter than the time to determine whether a lane change is possible in the system start mode.
EFFECT: timely lane change is achieved.
