SUBSTANCE: driving assistance method, when the considered lane along which the considered vehicle is moving, merges with the adjacent lane in front of the considered vehicle, which facilitates the entry of the vehicle under consideration into the stream of moving cars into the adjacent lane, contains the steps of obtaining data indicating the structures traffic lanes of the considered lane and adjacent traffic lane, detecting the locations of many other vehicles moving along the considered lane or adjacent traffic lane. The method also comprises the steps of determining whether other vehicles moving in the adjacent lane have allowed entry into the stream of moving cars of the first preceding vehicle and selecting, based on the result of said determination, the destination vehicle for entering the stream of moving vehicles among other vehicles, which will move in front of or behind the vehicle under consideration when the vehicle under consideration enters the traffic in an adjacent lane.
EFFECT: timely entry of the vehicle in question into the stream of moving cars is achieved.
