SUBSTANCE: method is carried out by means of a plant for tire assembly to superimpose filler belts on the bead to form a bead-filler joint for a green tire. The plant includes a bead holder for retaining the beads. Wherein the plant for tire assembly comprises the first gripping device and the second gripping device for gripping and moving the filler belts in the feeding direction towards the bead. The first gripping device is movable between the first initial position and the first end position, and the second gripping device is movable between the second initial position and the second end position. Wherein the plant for tire assembly contains the first wedge, the second wedge, the third wedge and the fourth wedge. Wherein the first gripping device and the second gripping device are configured to be shifted to the operating position in which the gripping devices grip the filler belts. The wedges are configured to counteract the shifting of the gripping devices when the gripping devices are in one of the initial positions or end positions.
