FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: surgical system for cataract removal contains a laser source designed to form the first group of laser pulses; a guide optic coupled to the laser source configured to direct the first group of laser pulses to the target cataract area of the eye; a laser controller; an Optical Coherence Tomography Spectral Area (OCT SA) imaging system configured to create an image comprising portions of the first photocleavable region with image resolution in the range of 0.5 to 5 million pixels per image and transmission rate in the range of 20 to 200 frames per second. In this case, the laser controller is configured to generate an electronic image of the target scanning pattern and the changed scanning pattern with respect to the image generated by the OCT-SA image system; and to control the guide optic for scanning by the first group of laser pulses according to a portion of the target scanning pattern to create the firstphoto-degradable region in the target cataract region and for scanning by the second group of laser pulses according to a modified scanning pattern to create the second photodegradable region.
EFFECT: extended range of technical means.
