SUBSTANCE: absorbent product includes the first hygroscopic pad facing the user and the second hygroscopic pad facing the garment, each comprising a liquid-permeable top sheet and a bottom sheet. Each of the absorbent pads has the first and the second end area, as well as the central area between them, if viewed in the longitudinal direction. The hygroscopic pads additionally comprise the first and the second lateral boundaries, as well as the first and the second transverse boundaries. The first and the second absorbent pads are attached to each other with the possibility of separating by means of joints along at least part of said respective first and second lateral boundaries in at least one of said end areas. Moreover, the first and the second absorbent pads are not attached to each other in an unattached area along at least part of the transverse boundaries in the end areas containing said joints along the lateral boundaries. The first absorbent pad has a larger width, at least between the joints along the lateral boundaries in the end areas, than the second absorbent pad, causing the first absorbent pad to bulge and form a finger-gripping opening between the first and the second absorbent pads in the unattached area.
