SUBSTANCE: according to one version of the invention, a diaper (1) includes an upper sheet (2), a bottom sheet (3) and a longitudinally long absorbent member (4) located between the sheets (2, 3). The absorbent member (4) includes an absorbent core (41). The absorbent core (41) includes a block patterned zone (411) including: longitudinal grooves (44Y) extending longitudinally (direction Y), transverse grooves (44X) extending transversely (direction X), and a plurality of longitudinally extending portions (43) having a high basis weight and disposed in respective portions separated by longitudinal grooves (44Y) and transverse grooves (X). Each high basis weight portion (43) has a higher basis weight than the portions located on the longitudinal grooves (44Y) and the transverse grooves (44X). The absorbent core portions (43) having a high basis weight are formed integrally with the low basis weight portions (44) formed by the portions located on the longitudinal grooves (44Y) and the transverse grooves (44X).
