SUBSTANCE: system (1) for detecting pumping state of at least one of the tires (2, 3) of the motor vehicle steering wheels (R11, R12) comprises: the first measurement instruments (11) of a transverse moment (TAPP) applied to the steering wheels, the second instruments (12) of the steering wheel rotation angle measurement (α), the third instruments (13) of the vehicle speed measurement (V). The system also comprises first computing instruments (14) for calculating the check transverse moment (TREF) depending on the measured steering wheel rotation angle (α) and the vehicle speed (V) and the instruments (15) comparing the applied transverse moment (TAPP) measured by the first measurement instruments (11), and the check moment (TREF) computed by the first computing instruments (14).

EFFECT: increased reliability of the system for determining tire air pressure.
