SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of facilitating control of a motor vehicle. Method for facilitating control of a vehicle occupying a lane, comprising steps, on which at least one data element relating to the position of the vehicle relative to the lane is read, and checking whether there is an unexpected departure or beginning of exit of the vehicle from said lane. If an unexpected drop is detected, an intervention phase is actuated, during which correction torque is applied to the steering device, that the vehicle follows the target trajectory. Correcting torque calculation includes the following operations, on which actual rotation angle of vehicle steering control is read, depending on data element, target rotation angle is determined, within which it is necessary to locate said steering control so that the vehicle follows the target trajectory, filtered target rotation angle is determined such that at the initial moment of time of said intervention phase, filtered target rotation angle is equal to actual rotation angle and that after that initial time moment filtered target rotation angle tends to said target rotation angle, having a rate of change, the absolute value of which remains below the first determined threshold. Once the difference between the filtered target rotation angle and the target rotation angle is canceled or changes sign, filtered target rotation angle tends to said target rotation angle, having a rate of change, the absolute value of which remains below the second determined threshold, which exceeds said first threshold, and depending on said filtered target rotation angle, said correction torque is determined for application.

EFFECT: higher safety of vehicle driving is achieved.
