FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: method for performing the cycling mode of airtight nickel-cadmium batteries comprises issuing a command to activate the cycling mode, removing the discharge current of the set quantity from the battery, measuring the values of the battery discharge current, its voltage and temperature, and comparing the battery discharge current value with the predetermined quantity, stopping the discharge current removal from the battery when the minimum battery voltage limit is reached, in contrast to the prototype, after stopping the discharge current removal from the battery, commands are issued to stop the discharge-charge modes of the battery, the battery temperature is controlled to the predetermined value, at reaching of which the charging current of the set quantity is supplied; the values of the charging battery current, its voltage and temperature are measured, and the charging current value of the battery is compared to the predetermined value, then the charge-discharge-charge cycle is repeated.

EFFECT: reducing the heating temperature rate of batteries during their operation, increasing the efficiency and increasIng the service life, is a technical result of the invention.
