FIELD: engine devices and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: controller for an internal combustion engine (ICE) includes a crankshaft (CR) angle detector and an electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU is configured to: (a) calculate the burning mass fraction; (B) obtain the CR angle, which is determined by the CR angle detector when the burning mass fraction reaches a predetermined burning mass fraction, as the specified CR angle; and (c) control at least one of the injected fuel volume, the intake air volume or the ignition energy based on the first difference. The first difference is the difference between the first parameter and the second parameter. The first parameter is the period of the change in the CR angle from the ignition time to the specified CR angle or the correlation value of the period of change in the CR angle. The second parameter is the target value of the period of the change in the CR angle or the target value of the correlation value.
EFFECT: optimisation of fuel-air mixture control and combustion process in the internal combustion engine.
