FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: incomplete circular paraumbilical access is performed in newborns and infants during treatment of congenital pyloric stenosis and duodenal atresia. Prior to the operation, the linear velocity of blood flow in the umbilical arteries is determined. At a higher value of the blood flow linear velocity in the right artery, a section of tissues 1 cm long in the right lower quadrant of the umbilicus is left intact. With a higher value of the blood flow linear velocity in the left umbilical artery and with the same magnitude of blood flow linear velocities in the umbilical arteries, a section in the left lower quadrant is left intact.
EFFECT: traumatism of access and the risk of intra- and postoperative complications development are reduced.
