FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC) comprises combining an aqueous solution containing a soluble calcium salt and the first stabilizing agent with an aqueous solution containing a soluble carbonate to form an ACC suspension. Further, a water miscible organic solvent and a solution containing the second stabilizing agent are added simultaneously or sequentially in any order. The second stabilizing agent and the organic solvent are brought into contact with the ACC suspension within about 2 minutes after its formation to produce a stabilized ACC suspension. The first and the second stabilizing agents are the same or different. The total amount of the stabilizing agent is up to about 12 wt % of the stabilized ACC suspension weight. The organic solvent miscible with water is, at least, 5 wt % of the stabilized ACC suspension weight.
EFFECT: invention allows to increase the stability of amorphous calcium carbonate, which is in the form of a suspension in the aqueous phase or in the form of a powder.
