FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: to determine the number of spent fuel during combustion fire area is measured, the kind of burnt liquid fuel is determined, the length of corpse body is measured, and its intravital mass is found. On the basis of thermal damage of burnt corpse the temperature which was reached by the body during burning is determined, according to thermodynamic calculation of heat, necessary for heating to such temperature, is produced according to the following formula: Q=mt×ΔT×c, where Q is the amount of heat transferred from the burnt fuel to body corpse, J, mt - intravital weight of heated body, kg, ΔT - difference of temperature, which was reached by the body during burning, and body temperature of the corpse before burning, °C, c - the specific heat of the human body, J/(kg⋅°C), then the amount of fuel consumed is determined by the following formula: M=(Q×k1×k2)/q, where M is the number of spent fuel, Q is the amount of heat transferred from the burning fuel to corpse, q is specific heat of combustion of fuel, k1 is correction factor, which takes into account the incomplete heat transfer from burning fuel to under surface, k2 is the correction factor, which takes into account the large area of seat of fire compared with the area of body, which is found by the formula: k2=0.5×S/s, where S is the total area of seat of fire, determined based on scene awareness m2, s is body area, m2, defined by the Mosteller formula: s=(mt×l/3600)1/2, where mt is live body weight, kg; l is the length of the corpse, cm, wherein found quantity of fuel and its type are put in correspondence as credible circumstances of incident are put in correspondence with data available in the materials of the criminal case in accordance with the protocols of investigative actions, and reliability of evidence of parties of a criminal proceeding is assess.
EFFECT: method helps to increase the reliability of establishing the circumstances of burning of a corpse found on the scene due to the accuracy of determining the amount of burned liquid fuel, which was the cause of the fire.
