SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the suitable for use as a contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging nanostructures containing ParaMagnetic manganese (II) ions introduced in chelating polymer structure where the nanostructure is almost spherical in shape and has average size of 3-7 NM; where the molar ratio of r/Mn is 7-20; where the polymer structure is formed by polymerization of monomer, which is using spontaneous hydrolysis and condensation, where the degree of polymerization is from 25 to 3 million monomers; where manganese (II) ions are introduced into the polymer structure by contacting polymer with solution of salts of manganese (II); where specified nanostructure does not necessarily contain biologically inert groups-(CH2CH2O)nCH3, where n=4, which is grafted to the residual phosphonic or silanol groups of the polymer after chelation of manganese through interaction with the . The number of biologically inert groups per unit of nanostructure is from 10 to 1000.
EFFECT: new effective contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging have been proposed.
