FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: to assess the effectiveness of reconstructive surgery in orbit, MSCT of both orbits is performed after reconstructive surgery in bulk mode with a cut thickness of 0.5 mm in the axial plane. The symmetrical bone boundaries of both orbits are determined, taking into account their anatomical variations, deformations and bone-traumatic injuries. Each bone wall is marked on each cut. Further, the obtained volumes of the left and right orbits are compared, and when the volume difference is less than 2 ml, a conclusion is made about the positive result of the operation, and when the volume difference is more than 2 ml, the risk of eyelid obsolescence remains.
EFFECT: method provides accurate definition of changes in orbit volumes and, accordingly, the accuracy of estimation of the reconstructive surgical treatment efficiency.
