FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely organ transplantation and clinical laboratory diagnostics, and can be used in the management of patients after heart or lung transplantation for screening bacteremia caused by gram-negative pathogens. The level of microRNA-424 (E) expression in the recipient’s blood plasma is determined, and the concentration of C-reactive protein (CRP) is determined in the blood serum. With an E value above -5.72 and a CRP concentration above 7 mg/l, the presence of bacteremia associated with gram-negative microorganisms is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method provides an effective diagnosis of bacteremia associated with gram-negative microorganisms in recipients of the heart or lungs by determining the expression level of microRNA-424 in blood plasma together with measuring the level of CRP in blood serum.
