FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for introduction of a foreign DNA molecule into a pre-determined site in the genome of a transgenic plant cell by inducing double-stranded DNA disruption by administration of a non-naturally occurring single-chain meganuclease or a pair of non-naturally occurring meganucleases, as well as application of the above method to produce a plant cell or a plant. Application of a non-naturally occurring meganuclease or a pair of non-naturally occurring meganucleases to introduce a rupture of double-stranded DNA into the coding region of bar in the transgenic plant cell genome is also disclosed.
EFFECT: invention allows to effectively introduce a foreign DNA molecule into the plant cell genome.
