SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for diagnosing the condition and spatial position of the following elements: lightning proof rope, power cables, support structural elements, hanging clamps and anchor fastener of lightning proof roof, insulators fastening, insulators garlands, vibration damper and other equipment. Diagnostic device for overhead transmission lines contains helicopter type aircraft 2, control system, control units 3, 4 of overhead transmission lines and power supply 5 located in the enclosure 6 of moving tool, consisting of engine 7, associated with running rollers 8 and pressure roller 9 with drive 10, made to pressed investigated 11 cables to running rollers 8. At the same time, on the sides of the enclosure 6 guides 12 are fixed, facilitating the alignment of running rollers 8 with the investigated cable 11. The guides 12 in their narrow part are straight, and the drive 10 of the pressure roller 9 is fixed to the enclosure 6 so that the plane of movement of pressure roller 9 is located perpendicular to the investigated cable.

EFFECT: simplification of the technology of making guides and eliminating unwanted lateral oscillations of the cable and the whole device during its landing and take-off from the cable, reducing the size and weight of the enclosure.
