FIELD: electric power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power industry and is intended for diagnosing the state and spatial position of the following elements: a lightning-proof cable, power wires, structural components of the support, suspension clamp and anchorage of the lightning-proof cable, fixing insulators, garland insulators, vibration dampers and other equipment. To this end, the device comprises helicopter-type aircraft 2, a control system, control units 3, 4 overhead power lines and power source 5, moving means disposed in the housing 6 consisting of engine 7 connected to running rollers 8 and pressure roller 9 with drive 10 for pressing test cable 11 against running rollers 8, while guides 12 are fixed on the sides of housing 6, facilitating the alignment of running rollers 8 with cable 11 being examined. Guides 12 in their narrow part are straight, and drive 10 of pressure roller 9 is fixed to housing 6 at an angle such that the plane of movement of pressure roller 9 in its upper position coincides with cable 11 being examined, and in the lower position it was outside the alignment of the guide rails.

EFFECT: technical result is a simplification of the technology of making the guides and eliminating undesirable lateral oscillations of the cable and the whole device during its landing and takeoff from the cable.
