SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering and is intended for diagnosing the state and spatial position of the following elements: overhead protection cable, power cables, support structure elements, suspension clamp and anchor fasteners of overhead protection cable, insulator fasteners, insulator strings, vibration dampers and other equipment. Claimed device comprises helicopter type aircraft, control system, control blocks of overhead power lines and power supply, moving means, located in the body and consisting of engine connected to running rollers, and pressure roller with drive to clamp the test cable to the running rollers, and guides are mounted on the sides of the housing to facilitate the alignment of the running rollers with the cable being examined, the guides in the narrow part are made straightline, the pinch roller drive is fixed to the housing so that the vertical plane of the pinch roller is placed perpendicular to the cable being examined, and the housing is provided with a suspension spring loaded hook interacting with the pinch roller drive, the bottom of which is made bevel-edged.

EFFECT: guides are simplified, size of the body and its weight are reduced, falling device during a sharp landing is completely prevented.
