SUBSTANCE: essence of the method: the amount of virus DNA in children suspected of 4, 5, 6 type herpesvirus infection (HVI), is determined by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in a scrap of the oropharyngeal epithelium and at a DNA quantity of more than 1000 copies per 105 cells for HVI type 4, and more than 10,000 copies per 105 cells for HVI type 5 and type 6, the active stage of infection is determined.
EFFECT: objective assessment of herpesvirus infection.
