METHOD OF ASSESSING THERAPY EFFECTIVENESS FOR INFECTION CAUSED BY EPSTEIN-BARR VIRUS IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G01N33/50 C12Q1/68

Abstract RU 2618391 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention aims at assessing therapy effectiveness for infection caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) in children. Before treatment, then in one, three and six months from the treatment onset the viral load (VL) of EBV DNA is determined in a child by PCR method in oropharynx epithelium scraping. If VL is decreased at indicated time intervals by 2 log10 and more, it is concluded that the therapy is highly effective. If VL is decreased by more than 1 log10 but less than 2 log10 - the therapy is moderately effective. If VL is decreased by less than 1 log10 - the treatment is low-effective.

EFFECT: invention provides control for therapy effectiveness for EBV-infection in terms of viral load by quantitative PCR with 100 percent specificity and high sensitivity.
