SUBSTANCE: system and method for monitoring fuel-air ratio imbalances in the engine cylinder is provided, including the steps of accelerating the crankshaft by modulating the fuel-air ratio in the selected cylinder, identifying a potential imbalance in the fuel-air ratio in the selected cylinder based on the steepness or shape of the crankshaft acceleration characteristics and identifying the concentration of alcohols in the fuel by displaying the torque curve depending on the modulated fuel-air ratio in comparison with the ideal torque curve.
EFFECT: increasing the control of imbalances in the fuel-air ratio in the cylinders, which can occur in the engine.
